Southern Hawker Aeshna cyanea
Essex, UK.

He'd (it's a he because his bum's blue) crashed into another plant just before landing here to get his head straight before darting off again. Not quite as good a shot as I'd hoped for as I had to very quickly manual focus it as the camera was having trouble in the gloom -_- but not as bad as it could have been. :)


Please don't be offended if I don't personally say thank you for you favouriting my work, I'm afraid I just don't have time anymore due to Uni work increasing. I usually give out llamas so watch out for those and I'll always respond to comments :D

Having done a lot of dragonfly hunting, that's a great shot. Particularly as I'm betting, being a hawker, that he doesn't like to land much.

Thank you :) he had only landed because just before this shot was taken he had crashed into another branch; I don't think the cooling weather was making like easy for him!

Thank you :) not quite as good focus as I wanted but my camera wouldn't focus on auto so I had to very quickly manually focus it and I'm shit at that =p
