I love this, Enna!

The only qualms I have with this photograph is, as mszafran had pointed out, the horizon seems a little off (as in the angle) but even so... I think it goes well with what you have captured!

Great photo. :)

Thanks!! Yeah it annoys me too but that's how it was in RL, not sure whether to correct it or not :s

Thanks for your feedback :)

No problem!

It's not that big of a deal, just a minor inconvenience to me haha ;)

Nice scene, I like the way that the two sides have strong leading lines into the centre.

Is the horizon wonky? It feels like it needs to be rotated ever so slightly clockwise.

You've got some good photography cloud shapes, you could have brought out some more detail there if you had used a red filter (or emulated that in post processing).

There's also a bird/dust spec on top of a cloud in the right most 3rd of the shot. I keep trying to clean it off my screen but it wont budge :P

I also wonder what it would be like if you'd done a longer exposure and had more glassy water. I don't know if that'd be better or if it's what you wanted just an idea out of curiosity.

Another idea, maybe the rock and grass in the bottom left could have been a little more prominent, maybe with a lower angle, to give a bit more foreground interest to the shot.

Hey! Long time no speak! Thanks for the feedback :)

Ok about the horizon, yes it's wonky and it's bugging the hell out of me but that's how it was in real life :/ it's a sandbank sloping down. I know I had the camera level as I have an in-built spirit level thing =p I never know what to do in instances like this, in RL it's wonky but it would look so much better in the photo if it was straight.

I didn't have a filter with me on the day and I don't know how to do that in PS!! I'm a computer noob :XD: maybe you could help with that?

Yes, there is dust, I shall go remove that right now.

Hmm longer exposure...if you want a really honest opinion here, as much as people seem to like fuzzy water, I don't. I like crisp clean photos and also fuzzy water pics are two a penny these days, I'm being different =p I'm sure this photo would have been more popular had I done that...ahah

actually, there was more rock and grass but I cropped it out because I felt it detracted from the water and sky! I could do a re-crop and see which you prefer?

Nice to get some real feedback, too many people just fave and run :( thanks matey!

Hiya! Yes it has been hasn't it? And you're welcome, you're one of the few people who I know want to hear proper feed back and not just an ego stroking 'oh wow thats the bestest one ever', so when I have something useful to say I do try and share my opinions. You're always welcome to ask my opinion, just be mindful that if you do I will give it :D

I definitely know what you mean with the long expo waters, it is one of the very popular things, like purple sunsets. I'm not that keen on it myself usually, but like all things it does have a time and a place. I was thinking here that if the sky was still enough you could long expo the ripples out of the water and have a nice reflection.

I don't know how to do it in PS, I personally dont think PS is for photos (contrary to the name). In Lightroom it's easy if you shoot in RAW; you just convert to B&W then darken the blue colour channel. That's all a real red filter does, it just darkens the blues and then you get a lot more definition in your clouds and sky.
